About Desert Moon Winery
Desert Moon Winery is a family-owned estate nestled on the fertile banks of the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, just above the Columbia River in Paterson, Washington. The land has been part of the family’s farming legacy since 1974 — originally as part of the family’s Sandpiper Farms — and in 2023 the family planted a dedicated 30-acre vineyard to carry forward their agricultural heritage into the world of winemaking.
From these vines, Desert Moon crafts wines that reflect the unique character of the region: a terroir shaped by rich soils, sweeping river views, and the historic Columbia River winds that give grapes balanced ripening and concentrated flavors.
But Desert Moon is more than just grapes and barrels — it’s built on values. For the Tucker family, the Columbia River is a daily reminder of their privilege and responsibility. This sense of gratitude fuels their commitment to giving back: $30 from every bottle of their Cabernet Sauvignon supports clean-water projects through Water From Wine — a non-profit that has raised over $1.5 million to bring clean water to communities in need around the world.
When you visit their tasting room — the cozy and welcoming Winemaker’s Loft inside Vintner’s Village in Prosser — you’re greeted like family. Whether you sample their Horse Heaven Hills Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, or a crisp Rosé, the ambience is relaxed yet polished. On sunny days, the shared outdoor space (alongside neighbors like Coyote Canyon Winery and Martinez & Martinez Winery) invites you to linger with friends, soak up the view, and share stories over a glass.
