We are excited to welcome visitors back to Prosser and our local wineries. Most wineries are re-open at this time, however, hours, service offerings, and policies may vary. We advise you to visit our winery list for the most up-to-date information for individual wineries. Please be patient with each business as they learn to navigate through all of the recent changes to deliver you an exceptional Prosser wine experience despite the current situation. We ask you, please be considerate of staff and other consumers and follow the guidelines below as mandated by our governor, Jay Inslee. Thank you, and we look forward to serving you soon!

As of August 1, 2020, Benton County (Prosser) is currently in Modified Stage 1 which allows wineries to reopen with outdoor seating only and safety measures in place.

Businesses are taking the following precautions to keep their guests and staff safe while allowing guests to return to engaging with local wineries:

  • Outdoor seating only, at 50% capacity.
  • Seated tastings only.
  • Ensuring tables are at least 6 feet apart to allow social distancing from other parties.
  • Limited parties of up to 5 people (including children).
  • No indoor service or seating.
  • No tasting bar service.
  • Minimum staff serving each table
  • Face coverings for guests are required in all places of business as of June 26, 2020, however, face coverings may be removed during your seated tasting.

Update: August 26, 2020

Beginning Thursday, August 27, we were approved to move to another phase of modified Phase 1 of the state’s Safe Start Phased Reopening Plan. Some wineries who qualify will be allowed indoor dining at 25% capacity, limited to tables of 5 from the same household. Check our winery listings page for winery specific information.

Face coverings for guests are required in all places of business as of June 26, 2020.* And as of July 7, 2020 businesses in Washington State are required to refuse service to any customers refusing to wear a face covering. This includes both indoor and outdoor service. Please be mindful of the state mandates for the safety of all parties.

*Exemptions include:

  • Children under the age of two should not wear face coverings. Children ages three and four are encouraged, but not required to wear a face covering.
  • Exemptions also include those with certain medical conditions who may be adversely impacted by wearing a facial covering.
  • Customers may remove face coverings while seated (eating and drinking) or communicating with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing.

As each winery develops their individual reopening plan, there are a few things to keep in mind for your visit.

  1. Outdoor Seating Only - Remember Prosser is home to over 300+ days of sunshine! Be prepared to sit outdoors with sunscreen, hats, water bottles during the heat of the summer, and a light jacket for the cooler evening hours.
  2. Face Coverings - Face coverings are required in all areas of the winery as you move about. When you are seated at your table you may remove your face covering for tastings.
  3. Seated Tastings - Seated tastings at least 6-feet apart is for your safety and others. Please stay at your designated table during your visit.
  4. Reservations - Many wineries are recommending or requiring reservations for the best experience possible. Please refer to our winery list for the most current information for each winery.
  5. Allow Extra Time - Wineries are working hard to deliver a stellar experience and still keep you safe. Allow extra time for staff to sanitize your space for your seated tasting.
  6. Alternate Options - You don't have to do a seated tasting to enjoy Prosser wine. Many wineries are offering curbside pickup and/or delivery options. See our winery list for participants.

Thank you for considering visiting Prosser and our fine wineries. We're all in this together and we will continue to strive to deliver the best experience possible while maintaining safety for all parties. Sip, Stay, and Play in Prosser!
